JOB DESCRIPTION

The Networks and Systems Administrator or Systems and Network Engineer guarantees the proper functioning and implementation of a communication network. It sets the strategy for the telecommunications infrastructure to be adopted by a network architect. It also offers technical support for users.

Responsible for all technical communication issues, he optimizes the operation of the network. His missions lead him not only to manage the installation and optimization of the company's computer networks (create new tools: company messaging, for example) but also to master all the networks with which he is confronted.

It sets the strategy for the telecommunications infrastructure to be adopted by a network architect.

REQUIRED QUALITIES

- TECHNIQUES -

The System and Network Administrator has an increasingly versatile function. His role may therefore be to supervise and support sales teams. He sometimes collaborates with the development team (developer, network architect) to create a new network system that allows communication in the information systems.

He absolutely needs in-depth knowledge of networks. Mastering devices such as switches (network equipment), his know-how allows him to design projects within an organization: carrying out the establishment of networks, tuning performance and maintenance in the event of failure.

TRAINING

The path of the Networks and Systems Administrator may vary depending on the profile, but in general the path taken is specialized training at the Bac +5 level. You can choose to start with a computer science license and then continue in an engineering school which offers to train you with Specialized Masters (type: Master in Management and Protection of personal data).

OPPORTUNITIES

With experience and depending on his preferences, the systems and network administrator can specialize in technical functions: Network, storage and security architect ... If he likes challenges, he can also occupy management positions ( IT, Telecoms or Datacenter Manager) or more commercial such as technical sales or business engineer. He can also set up freelance as a consultant.

Junior: 30-45 K € (0 to 3 years of experience)

Confirmed: 45-55 K € (4 to 8 years of experience)

Senior: 55-70 K € (8 years and over)
